Mount Mercy’s RN-BSN completion program is tailored for RNs who are interested in returning to college for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The program is designed to include the granting of credit for past learning and takes into consideration the needs of adult learners. Applicants to the RN-BSN program must hold a current, active RN license.


Full-time students can complete the RN-BSN program in 18-24 months!

Graduates of the program will:

  1. Integrate knowledge derived from liberal arts, science, and nursing in professional nursing practice
  2. Respect the value and dignity of human life
  3. Implement appropriately selected nursing interventions
  4. Embrace the culture of the profession of nursing

Mount Mercy University accepts credit through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), or through the Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) portfolio documentation. Qualifying students may transfer up to 30 APEL credits and 60 CLEP credits into our degree programs.
